Production floor slabs and drains in North Florida: what to know

A brewery floor is wet, hot and chemical all day, and it cannot be changed once poured. The slab is sloped toward trench drains that run under the brewhouse and along the tank rows, with floor drains where the cleaning stations sit. Areas under full fermenters may need extra thickness. A surface coating or a finish suited to food production keeps the concrete from breaking down, and the drain bodies themselves should be rated for heat and cleaning chemicals. The drain line then has to meet whatever pretreatment the utility asks for before it leaves the property.
