Brewhouse and production buildings in North Florida

A production hall sized by its tanks.

Brewhouse and production buildings in North Florida: what to know

The brewhouse is planned from the inside out. Start with the kettle, the fermenters and bright tanks, the cold room and the packaging line, then add the aisles a forklift needs and room for the tanks you hope to buy in a few years. The tallest vessel sets the clear height, and a clear-span frame keeps columns out of the tank rows. Put a large overhead door on the wall where tanks will arrive, since replacing or adding one later means rolling it in standing up or tipping it inside. Utilities such as glycol, steam and compressed air run along the walls or overhead.
